TAFE NSW Students receive Scholarship from minister
Acting Minister for Education and Training, the Hon John Hatzistergos MLC has congratulated TAFE NSW students on receiving a certificate and a Minister’s TAFE NSW WorldSkills Australia Scholarship at an event on Thursday 28 August.
The scholarships were presented by the Deputy Director-General TAFE and Community Education, Mrs Marie Persson, to each of the students who won a gold medal at the WorldSkills competition in July.
TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute (NSI) students from Ryde, Hornsby, Meadowbank and North Sydney College won an impressive seven gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the National WorldSkills Competition.
Medallists may be eligible to represent the country as part of the Skillaroos team in the International Competition to be held in Canada in 2009.
