Business Services student receives a Mark Of Honour

TVET Business Services student Ruby Cook earned herself a place on the 2007 HSC Honour Roll, after achieving a Band 6 result in her 4 Unit Business Services Exam.

Ruby CookRuby completed the course at Hornsby TAFE while studying for her HSC at Cherrybrook Technology High School.

Throughout the Business Services course, Ruby learnt a range of administration skills, and participated in Work placements at The Starlight Children’s Foundation and the United Services Unit.

Ruby said she was ecstatic to hear she had received such an outstanding result.

“I’ve been working really hard, I was aiming for first in the state, but I’m very happy with my score of 90,” she said. “I knew that Business Services was my best subject, and I was really hoping I’d do well.”

Following her career adviser’s advice, Ruby said she undertook the course so she could expand her skills.

“My career adviser suggested the course would be a great option for me, and it’s worked out really well,” said Ruby.

“I’ve found the course fantastic; it was easy to adapt to and the teachers were really helpful and they made learning the material fun.”

Ruby is now working part time in an administration role at a Real Estate Agency, and hopes to continue studying in the future.
