Traineeships information for employers |
 |
Traineeships were introduced to provide employment and training opportunities in a range of areas not generally covered by apprenticeships. There are now more than 600 Traineeships available in NSW.
A Traineeship combines work and training in a formal training contract between a trainee and an employer. The employer agrees to employ the trainee for the period of the program (usually one to two years) and provides structured training on-the-job with ‘off-the-job’ training provided by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) such as TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute.
Information for employers:
The NSW Government will meet the cost of the new entrant Traineeship training delivered by TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute except for the TAFE NSW fee. Payroll tax exemptions also apply for new entrant trainee wages.
