Dialysis Education for Enrolled Nurses

TAFE NSW  - Northern Sydney Institute is working with Fresenius Medical Care (FME) to become the market leader in the delivery of Dialysis training for Enrolled Nurses utilising NSI’s educational and training capabilities and FME’s industry renal specialist capability.

The TAFE NSW Advanced Diploma of Dialysis Education for Enrolled Nurses is the first comprehensive program in Australia for Enrolled Nurses in the specialty of Dialysis.

Incorporating clinical and theoretical training, the course provides nurses with skills for dialysis care and knowledge of the technologies used, together with understanding of psychological and physiological processes associated with long term illness.

The program includes the following core units of renal nursing.

• Support the Client with Chronic Kidney Disease NSWDEEN01A
• Apply Principles of Dialysis NSWDEEN02A
• Apply technologies Used in End Stage Renal Disease Management NSWDEEN03A
• Manage Patients Receiving Dialysis Therapy NSWDEEN04A
• Facilitate Therapeutic Communication in End Stage Renal Disease Rehabilitation NSWDEEN05A.
