Bookshop

There are computers available for student use. These are located in the college library.

Lockers

Lockers are located in various areas the college. Please see the College Association for lockers. You will need to supply your own lock which must be removed at the end of each semester

Parking

Some student paid parking is available on site.

Photocopying

Pay photocopy facilities are available to students. College Association members receive 50% discount with their copy cards. Location: Library, Building M, Level 2 Phone: + 61 2 9941 5390

Public Telephones

Public telephones are located throughout the college as follows: Building M, Ground Floor. Building B.

Restaurants - Conference Facilities

The Tourism & Hospitality Section has a restaurant that is open to the public. This provides full and part-time students the opportunity to practice and develop professional skills in a simulated industry environment. Prices are reasonable and functions can be arranged by appointment.

Sport - Recreation Facilities

Various sporting equipment is available from the College Association office. Just show your Association card or other student ID. There is a wide range of leisure materials (novels, music cassettes and videos) available from the library for student use. Library card must be shown.

Transport

Private bus line - Frenchs Forest Coach Lines on + 61 2 9450 2277, or government bus from the city. For public transport information call the Sydney Buses Transport Infoline on 131 500. Car Pooling - ask your friends or classmates and try to get a car pool going.

Day or evening appointments can be made in person or by phone. If you are studying or planning to study at TAFE, Counsellors can help you with planning the best course of study for you, Austudy and Youth Allowance or dealing with personal issues.

Disabilities Support

Disabilities Support assists in making education and training available to all. Teacher-Consultants are available to help you with pre-entry assistance, modified attendance, tutors, note takers, sign language interpreters, exam modifications, adaptive equipment and special courses.

Library

The Library offers many resources, services and facilities to students and staff. These include relevant and up-to-date collections of books, textbooks, videos and magazines, lending services, access to catalogues, database and information networks, reference services, inter-library loans, seminar and group study rooms, student access to computers including Internet, photocopiers, audiovisual equipment such as video, CD and cassette players. Library membership is free to all TAFE NSW students. Hours of operation during term time are 8:30am - 8:00pm (Mon - Thurs) and 8:30am - 5:00pm (Friday).

Tutorial Support

FREE to enrolled students. For help with English, Mathematics & Science. Tutorial support is available at our: Individual Learning Centre (ILC), Adult Study Centres and Adult Basic Education Centres.

Student Services

Cashier's Office

The Cashier's Office is open between the hours of 9:00am- 12:00pm and 1:00pm -4:00pm, Monday to Friday. From 2003, TAFE NSW campuses will NOT accept cash for payments in relation to your enrolment charges. Payment of administration fees may be made by cheque, EFTPOS, or credit card (Bankcard, Mastercard or Visa only). If paying by cheque please make payable to Northern Sydney Institute then write your name, address and course number on the reverse side.

College Association

Opening hours during term time are Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 6:00pm, Friday 9.00am- 4.00pm. The College Association gives members discounts at a number of shops, discount theatre and movie tickets, cheap Internet access, cheap holidays, access to sports facilities, student lounges, lockers, special library privileges and much more. Just tick College Association on your enrolment form and pay $15 to join.

Course Information Officers provide information to prospective students regarding TAFE NSW courses, services and facilities. Opening hours 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Hours 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Fridays. Contact Student Administration if you have questions about enrolment, examinations, your results, your transcript of academic record, issuing your certificate on course completion.
