College Facilities

Bookshop

Opening hours during term time are Monday - Thursday 8am-6pm Friday 8am-3pm. Extended hours apply at the start of each semester. College Association discounts can apply.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria's hours of operation during term time are Monday to Thursday 8am to 8pm., Friday 8am to 4pm

Children's Centre Long day care

The Children's Centre is for the children of enrolled students and offers quality care and educational programs for children 0 - 5 years old. The centre is situated on campus with affordable hourly rates. Spaces in the centre are limited, so you should book your child/children into the centre immediately after you have enrolled

Computers

There are computers available for student use located in the college library.
Link to Meadowbank Library . You need to know your DET username and password to access the computers. Location : Library, Building P, Level 2.

Lockers

Lockers are located in various areas the college. Please see the College Association for lockers in Buildings P, V, H & J. Lockers are available in other areas, see your Head Teacher about these.

Parking

Student parking is available as follows: See Street day/evening all week; Rhodes Street day/evening all week; Staff Car Park after 5.00 pm Monday - Friday. Parking fee per entry is: College Association Members - $4.00, Non Members $12.00 (GST Included). Access is via TAFECARD use only.

Photocopying

Pay photocopy services (using TAFECARD) are available to all students. Discounts on photocopying are available to College Association members. Location: Library, Building P - Level 1, Study Centre, Building Q – Level 1

Public Telephones

Telstra operated card/coin machines are located in:
P Block - ground floor
H Block - level 2
J Block - level 2
V Block.

These phones can be used with your TAFEcard. Add value to the Phoneaway part of the card with your credit card, using the phone number and account number printed on the back of your card. In addition, the College Association provides a coin only blue phone in P Block (cafeteria).

Showers

Showers are available for student use in the following locations:
Women: Building P - Level 1. Building J - Level 2.
Men: Building P - Level 1. Building H - Level 1.

Sport - Recreation Facilities

Volleyball - 2 courts are available on the western side of the College Green. Basketball/Tennis Courts - access is available through the College Association Office. Equipment is available from the College Association Office. A hiring fee applies.

Transport

Car Pooling - ask your friends or classmates and try to get a car pool going. You can also register your name with the College Association if you are interested in starting a car pool and they will try and match you up with people who live around your area.

Employment Services

Jobplace Employment Service

Jobplace will assist you with job applications, resume preparation and interview techniques. They also have a current listing of jobs that are available in the local area. Located in Building E

Learning Support

Access for Students with Disabilities

Parking is available upon request for students with disabilities. Contact the College Association for further information. Accessible toilets are available in buildings V,T all levels P, and all Levels J.

Counselling Services

Day or evening appointments can be made in person or by phone. If you are studying or planning to study at TAFE NSW, Counsellors can help you with planning the best course of study for you, Austudy and Youth Allowance or dealing with personal issues. Counselling & Career Services

Disabilities Support

Disabilities Support assists in making education and training available to all. Teacher-Consultants are available to help you with pre-entry assistance, modified attendance, tutors, note takers, sign language interpreters, exam modifications, adaptive equipment and special courses.

Library

The Library offers many resources, services and facilities to students and staff. These include relevant and up-to-date collections of books, textbooks, DVDs and magazines, lending services, access to catalogues, database and information networks, reference services, inter-library loans, seminar and group study rooms, student access to computers including Internet, photocopiers, audiovisual equipment such as DVD, and CD players. Library membership is free to all TAFE NSW students. Hours of operation during term time are 8:30am - 8:00pm (Mon - Thurs) and 8:30am - 5:00pm (Friday).

Tutorial Support

Student Services

Cashier's Office

The Cashier's Office is open between the hours of 9:30am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. TAFE NSW campuses do NOT accept cash for payments in relation to your enrolment charges. Payment of administration fees may be made by cheque, EFTPOS, or credit card (Bankcard, Mastercard or Visa only). If paying by cheque please make payable to Northern Sydney Institute then write your name, address and course number on the reverse side.

College Association

Opening hours Monday to Thursday 10am - 6pm, Friday 10am to 3pm (Extended opening hours at the start of semester) The College Association gives members on Campus discount for photocopying, printing, parking & college shop purchases. Discount theatre and movie tickets, cheap Internet access, access to sports facilities and sporting competitions, student lounge, lockers, special library privileges and much more. Just tick college association on your enrolment form and pay $20 to join.

Course Information Office

Opening hours 9:00am - 5:00pm. If you want information about courses this is the best place to start. Course Information Officers can advise you on the courses available or put you in contact with the best person to help you for further information on specific course content or have them contact you.

Student Administration

Hours 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Contact Student Administration if you have questions about enrolment, examinations, your results, your transcript of academic record, issuing your certificate on course completion.
