College Facilities

Cafeteria

The cafeteria offers a selection of food for students in their breaks and is located in Building B. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:45am to 4:00pm.

Computers

Computers available for student use. These are located in the college library, computer rooms and the Learning Centre.

Lockers

Lockers are available at the college. Vacant lockers can be utilised by students without authorisation. You need to supply your own lock and remove it when you graduate/withdraw.

Parking

There is no on-site parking at the college. RTA restricted parking is available on the Pacific Hwy. Most students and staff park in surrounding streets.

Photocopying

Pay photocopy, including colour facilities are available to students in the Library.

Public Telephones

The college provides one pay phone located in Building B on level 3, outside classroom B3.22

Sport - Recreation Facilities

Pool - one table is located inside the Student Common Room in Building B.
Board Games - scrabble, backgammon, chess etc. are available from the College Association office. You just need your membership card.

Transport

The college is located on the Pacific Highway, 15 minutes walk from North Sydney and St. Leonards train stations.

Counselling Services

TAFE Counsellors provide a free service to students and can assist those who plan to study at TAFE to choose the best course for their needs. Enrolled students can see a counsellor for help in developing effective study skills, for advice if thinking of dropping out and for help with any issues affecting their study including stress or other personal matters. Disabilities Support

It is TAFE NSW policy that education and training should be equally available to everyone and that people with disabilities should have the same rights as other members of Australian society. Teacher-Consultants are employed to provide pre-entry assistance, modified attendance, tutors, note takers, sign language interpreters, exam modifications, adaptive equipment, physical access and special courses.

The college has a Harassment Officer who can deal with any issues or concerns you might have.

Library

The Library offers many resources, services and facilities to students and staff. These include relevant and up-to-date collections of books, textbooks, videos and magazines, lending services, access to catalogues, database and information networks, reference services, inter-library loans, seminar and group study rooms, student access to computers including Internet, photocopiers, audiovisual equipment such as video, CD and cassette players. Library membership is free to all TAFE NSW students. Hours of operation during term time are 8:00am - 5:30pm (Mon - Thurs) and 8:00am - 5:00pm (Friday). Link to Bradfield Library

Tutorial Support

You can get help with your English, reading, writing, mathematics and science for your course. Tutorial support is available at any TAFE Individual Learning Centre (ILC)

Student Services

Cashier's Office

The Cashier's Office is open between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. From 2003, TAFE NSW campuses will NOT accept cash for payments in relation to your enrolment charges. Payment of administration fees may be made by cheque, EFTPOS, Money Order or credit card (Mastercard or Visa only). If paying by cheque please make payable to Northern Sydney Institute then write your name, address and course number on the reverse side. Location: Building A

Course Information Office

Course Information Officers provide information to prospective students regarding TAFE NSW courses, applications, enrolments and facilities. Course Information for Year 11 and Year 12 (Preliminary and HSC) Phone : + 61 2 9448 4212.

Student Administration

The Administration office is open Monday to Friday, between 8am & 5pm during term, and 8:30am & 5pm in vacation. Contact Student Administration if you have questions about enrolment, course information, transport, concession cards, examinations, results, transcript of academic record and certificate issue.
