Modern and up-to-date libraries are located at each NSI college and offer a wide range of resources, services and facilities for students and staff to support teaching and learning. This includes quality collections of resources in a range of formats (including e-resources, e-journals, books, DVDs, CDs, videos, magazines) and ready access to the latest equipment (including PC’s, digital projectors, printers, scanners, photocopiers, DVD players). Generous loan limits apply and renewals and reservation services are available on request.
Item location and other information about the entire TAFE NSW Library collection is provided via a web-based catalogue http://tafecat.tafensw.edu.au/. Resources not held at your College Library can be transferred from another TAFE NSW Library via a state-wide Inter-library Loan courier service (conditions apply). Library membership, loans and all library services are free (except for printing and photocopying) and are available to all currently enrolled TAFE NSW students. Each NSI Library provides students and staff with free access to internet, database and information networks.
Trained and qualified library staff provide support for your research and assessment tasks and a range of study facilities are available, including individual study carrels, seminar rooms for groups of up to 30 people and group study rooms for 5-10 people.
Most NSI Libraries incorporate individual and other learning centres to support a variety of learning modes – including individual learner support, flexible, on-line and blended learning. Learning Centres provide access to PC’s, internet, printing, scanning and web-conferencing technologies.
Further information about services and resources, including our “Ask a Librarian” service, is available from the NSI Libraries website: http://www.nsi.tafensw.edu.au/libraries.
