English Literacy

You can study English language, literacy and/or numeracy at the following college locations: Hornsby, Meadowbank, North Sydney and Northern Beaches.

English language classes are offered by the English for the Speakers of other Languages (ESOL).

Courses available are:

• General English for Speakers of Other Languages
• English Pronunciation
• English for Vocational Purposes - Information Technology, Computer Skills for the Office, Child Studies, Aged Care
• English for Further Study
• English for Academic Purposes
• Nursing Language for Overseas Qualified Nurses
• Preparation for the Occupational English Test (OET)
• Preparation for work and study.
• Employment, education and training.

Literacy and Numeracy classes are offered by the Adult Basic Education/Adult Foundation Education sections.

Classes are offers full-time and part-time, day and evening at these colleges. They are also offered flexibly and use a range of technologies such as computer and language laboratories.

You may be eligible for funding to do one of these courses by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)
